May I suggest you google "Jamie Andreas", she has a unique take on practising and has a book which I found very useful "The principles of correct practice".

It really teaches tension free practising skills, maybe it will help you.

It helped me alot when I was learning new techniques some years back, and it still helps to some extent with the arpeggio but the next day unfortunately the problem re-appears.

Might be worth your while.
